Collection: Sleep Without Pain

Your neck supported, your pelvis square. Everything that takes the strain out of the night.

Why the pain starts in bed

A bad standing posture you correct within seconds without thinking. A bad lying posture lasts seven or eight hours, every night, all year. It is the one position your body cannot consciously fix — and the one that decides how you wake up.

The pattern is always the same. A joint is left unsupported, the muscles contract to hold it, and the tension travels down the chain. You do not feel it at night. You feel it in the morning.

The two unsupported points of a side sleeper

The neck. Between your shoulder and your head is a gap whose width depends on your build. If the pillow does not fill it, your head drops all night and the neck muscles do the work instead.

The knees. This is the point almost nobody addresses. With nothing between the legs, the upper one slides forward and pulls the pelvis into rotation. The lower back follows. You spend the night slightly twisted, readjusting without ever remembering it.

Treating one without the other means correcting half the line.

Height matters more than material

Most people choose a pillow by its fill — foam, feather, latex. The available research points to a different deciding factor: height. A memory foam pillow at the wrong height will do you more harm than a basic pillow at the right one.

The test takes ten seconds: lie down in your usual position and have someone photograph you from the front. Your ear should line up with your shoulder. If your head tips upwards, the pillow is too thick; if it leans towards the mattress, it is too flat.

Our complete guide to choosing a pillow covers the heights by position, foam density and the most common mistakes.

What these products do not do

They are comfort articles. They are not medical devices and they treat no condition. They act on one variable — position during sleep — which happens to be one of the few you can change tonight.

If your pain is persistent, intense, or accompanied by tingling, consult a doctor or a physiotherapist. A bedding accessory does not replace professional advice.
